This year’s contentious presidential campaign has candidates making a variety of strong claims about what they intend to accomplish once elected. The Mises Institute, a libertarian organization promoting the teachings of Austrian economist, Ludwig Von Mises, seeks to educate individuals to fight “the entrenched economic illiteracy that keeps politicians in business.” This event, including brunch and lively discussion, will focus on the politics and promises being made by current presidential candidates. Bob Murphy and Tom Woods, hosts of the Contra Krugman Show, will tape a live episode with audience participation and talk about how to “identify and refute the economic fallacies that are being promoted in the 2016 run for presidency.” Economist Walter Block, a childhood classmate of Bernie Sanders, will dissect minimum wage laws. And Mises Institute founder Lew Rockwell will discuss the latest—good, bad, and ugly—on the candidates.
